Job Description Summary

Control Royal Sonesta's assets and liabilities. Control audit functions, accounts receivables, balance sheet reconciliation, accounts payable, payroll and income audit. Provide management with accurate and timely monthly financial statements and keeps up with all other related work papers.Assists Director of Finance with preparing budgets and financial forecasts. Innovate new policies and procedures to improve current systems. Provide direction and training to staff. Follow changes in the responsibilities will vary as additional supervision of staff is taken over. Assumes responsibilities of controller in absence.

Job DescriptionKey Job Functions:

Properly train and guide staff to provide accurate information in a timely manner with leadership and professionalism.Provide management services and work on duties and special projects as assigned by Director of Finance.Oversee daily administration of financial transactions to ensure all incoming and outgoing revenues and expenses are recorded and handled accurately.Understand the duties of your staff and provide opportunities in cross training.Schedule, control, promote and discipline your staff according to hotel policy.Make sure management understands the function of procurement/ordering system.Ensure guests/clients receive accurate and timely accounts receivable reports.Oversee all travel agencies, refund and cancelled advance deposits are paid promptly and appropriately.Ensure all vendors are paid correctly, timely and with proper authorization.Handle Profit and Loss statement. Assets, Liabilities Balance Sheet Reconciliations.Work with staff to prepare month-end and year-end financial reports.Work with division leaders in cooperative effort on all financial matters.Oversee Payroll records and accuracy.Determine that all recurring journal entries are prepared correctly.Determine that all tax reports are prepared in a timely fashion.Complete all Sonesta mandatory controls.Assist with Chargebacks.Deliver Passionate & Engaging Service to our customers.Truthful engagement in caring for our guests, anticipating, handling unique needs.Build genuine relationships with your Colleagues; treat with respect and dignity.

Additional Job Information/Anticipated

Pay Range

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
