JOB DESCRIPTION
SummaryRegal Boats is seeking a motivated self-starter to join our team as the Director of Quality. Directors of Quality are responsible for ensuring we exceed customer expectations for product quality, cost, and delivery, as well as optimizing production quality levels and supporting operational excellence. They work closely with internal and external stakeholders regarding technical support of their activities. They also plan, coordinate, and direct quality control programs designed to ensure continuous manufacturing of products that are consistent with established standards.

Be an effective leader whose dedication and commitment to quality improvement is contagious to the entire Regal Team.Use relational connections to positively influence the leadership team throughout the organization to drive quality improvements and have accountability for the quality process.Create and implement best practice quality vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to support and improve business performance.Use data to systematically improve quality by implementing process improvements that achieve tangible improvements in our CSI and other key metrics.Develop a strategic focus for the quality team that unites quality and manufacturing in one shared vision to build worldwide premium boats.Lead and develop a team of Quality Engineers and Production Inspectors while working hand in hand with manufacturing, engineering, and customer experience teams.Passionately use root cause analysis to eliminate defects and solve problems.Implement process improvements that improve the final product by ensuring we produce quality at the source.Problem-solve using date and hands-on experience.Ensure manufacturing operations are in accordance with Regal’s QMS (Quality Management System) and the further development of the QMS.Develop and analyze statistical data (internal defects, warranty, etc.) and product specifications to achieve improved results.Formulate and maintain quality control objectives and coordinate with production procedures in cooperation with production Leaders to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, to cast vision, teach principles, and provide direction to members of the Regal Team.Systematically use Corrective Actions to improve product quality.Plan, promote, and organize training activities related to product quality and reliability. Actively on the floor and involved in day-to-day manufacturing processes.Ensures manufacturing operations are in accordance with Regal's Safety Standards, including:Ensure that workplaces are safe and employees follow proper safety proceduresBe proactive in preventing safety related incidentsCreate awareness of safe behavior and teach required skills for working safelyEnsure employees have the proper tools and equipment, including PPE, to work safely and prevent accidents
Required Qualifications
Relevant experience in marine industry or similar (automotives such as marine, auto, train, tactors, etc.)Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to train staffProven leadership and management skills with the ability to optimize team performanceThorough understanding of quality control standards and methodologiesLean manufacturing techniquesExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailExcellent analytical and problem solving skillsResults-oriented with the ability to plan and deliver against deadlines; works with a sense of urgencyAbility to operate and influence at a strategic and tactical levelProficient with Google G-Suite or related softwareBachelor’s degree in Engineering or related industrial, scientific, or business field3 to 5 years of related experience, with at least two years of leading peopleConversational English
Preferred QualificationsThorough understanding of assembly, fiberglass lamination, their components, and manufacturing techniquesAppropriate quality certifications are highly desirable
Work EnvironmentMust be able to work in a non-climate controlled environment where ambient air temperature can exceed outside air temperature reaching over 100 degrees fahrenheit at times.
Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to bend at the waist and knees and stand for extended periods of time. The employee is frequently required to climb into and out of the boats using stairs. The employee must frequently be able to lift 50 pounds, work 10 hour days with most of the time being on your feet, and work overtime, whether planned or unplanned.
