Manufacturing and Industrial Project Manager

PEC is looking for a personable, motivated, and Client-focused leader to manage multi-discipline design teams for medium and large manufacturing and industrial facilities projects to ensure project goals are met and all stakeholders are engaged and informed. Typical project types include new construction and renovation of manufacturing and assembly buildings for the following types of Clients: aerospace, consumer products, pharmaceutical, and food and beverage.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead a team of engineers, architects, and field services team members, as well as other subconsultants through project planning, design, and construction administration to successful project outcomes.Strong analytical skills and general knowledge of all disciplines supporting the project to generate solutions to project challenges.Effective written and oral communication. Candidates must clearly communicate with and present to Client's management and project leaders, as well as other project team members.Ensure Quality Management System processes are being followed.Competent to make business decisions on projects starting at opportunity identification through project completion with minimal guidance or oversight.Identify, appropriately communicate and manage risk, and diplomatically navigate risk management with our Client and project team.Lead project teams through project stages applying the right resources at the right times.Develop and monitor project schedules and design team staffing plans, manage scope, and understand and control project costs.Monitor project performance and take corrective action when necessary to drive project success.Conduct post-project evaluations to identify areas for improvement and implement lessons learned.Work with design discipline leads and subconsultants to prepare contracts for work to be performed.Serve as primary point of contact with Client for all project-related activities.Proactively consult our Clients. Seek to understand Client's goals, lead a project team to achieve each project's unique goals and develop solutions for project objectives.Participate in Business Development activities. These may include development and execution of business development plans in collaboration with company leadership.Participate in project pursuits, and Request for Proposal (RFP) and Request for Qualifications (RFQ) responses and attend project interviews.Effectively communicate project status, client status, and other appropriate information to internal and external stakeholders.Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Qualifications:
Minimum of B.S. degree in appropriate field of engineering study from an accredited university is required.Professional Engineer's Licensure in Kansas or the ability to obtain reciprocal licensure within six months of the beginning of employment.Minimum ten years multi-discipline project engineering design experience.Minimum three years Project Management experience on multi-discipline Engineering-Prime projects.Experience as a Project Manager, successfully delivering projects on time and within budget.Strong knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, and tools.Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.Strong leadership abilities, with the capability to drive project teams and motivate individuals.Experience in manufacturing or industrial projects.Proficient in project management software, MS Office suite, and Bluebeam Revu.Understanding of the financial aspects of project management.
