About the Team
VIZIO's Technology - Software and Services team is seeking a Senior Manager, Software Engineering to join their growing team. A successful candidate will contribute domain expertise and make high-impact individual contributions related to UI engine development and optimization. This position will not have direct reports and is an Individual contributor. We pride ourselves on being a collaborative team here at Vizio and to accomplish this, we are in office 5 days a week in our Dallas, TX office.
What You Will Do
Work closely with cross-functional teams - product, hardware, software and cloud engineering in the design and development of new innovative TV productsEmpowering the engineers and dev leads in your teams to succeed by identifying how to measure success, and mentor them on how to achieve those goalsExperience in HAL layer, notification system, IPC, multi-processing, multi-threading, debugging/core dump analysis.Highly proficient in C, C++11/14.Experience in Shell-Script, Makefile, git, bug tracking tools.Proactive in foreseeing issues and resolve it before it happensEnsuring teams have clear prioritiesParticipating in architecture discussions and planningProviding technical guidance, career development, and mentoring to team membersCommunicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiencesAbout You
Bachelor's degree in computer science (or a related program) or equivalent work experienceYou have experience developing software development managers/technical leadsYou have 10+ years of Application development on embedded devices.Experience working with SoC vendors, ODMs and prototyping iteratively based on new technologyExtensive experience with embedded Linux and system-on-a-chip (SoC) developmentAbility to multi-task and drive parallel projects with tight deadlinesProven strong track record of shipping high-quality hardware and software at scaleYou are a self-starter that thrives in a fast-paced, yet at times, ambiguous environmentYou are a hard-working team player, with a "no task is too small" attitudeYou are a creative problem-solver who digs into root causes analytically, instead of relying on intuitionYou have excellent written and verbal communication skills
