Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs)Review financial data, including budgets, forecasts, and actual expenses, to provide timely cost reports for managementGenerate and present cost analysis reports to management, identifying trends, variances, and potential savingsCollaborate with operations and finance to analyze product costsBuild and maintain cost estimation models to support budgeting, forecasting, and new product cost assessmentsLead updates of standard costs to accurately assign material, labor, and overhead expensesSupport inventory audits and reconciliations, including physical count validationAssist with journal entries, reconciliations, and other tasks related to cost and inventory during month-end closeWork with the finance team to assess current item costs and suggest cost-saving measuresCollaborate with various teams to gather data and create cost models for pricing and profitability analysisProvide analysis and recommendations to improve and optimize processes around inventory managementSenior Cost Analyst Skills/Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business req4+ years of analysis experience within a plant environmentFamiliarity with cost accounting principles and practicesAdvanced/expert level proficiency in ExcelStrong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize and analyze large amounts of dataExcellent attention to detail and accuracy in data analysisStrong communication skills to effectively collaborate with various teamsAbility to learn new tools and implement improved processes
