The IU Jacobs School of Music seeks a social media and digital specialist who is experienced/interested in photo and video creation for our small but mighty team. We are looking for a Team Member: someone who is creative and a great writer, who works collaboratively, and who understands the value of strategic planning. We seek someone who can work and adapt under pressure and is enthused about publicizing all the programs and products of Jacobs School of Music.

Job Summary

Department Specific ResponsibilitiesWrites, manages and posts organic and paid social media content for digital channels, a deft creator and producer.Takes the lead on managing social media content calendar timelines and publication.Understands analytics and data-driven management; leverages Hootsuite, Meta, and other social media analytics tools for reporting and optimization.Tracks competitor content and social media trends that may impact strategy and tactics.Adept in the use of CRM (Salesforce or otherwise).Takes responsibility for community management, including timely response to reviews, comments, direct messages, tags, and shares/re-shares.Works collaboratively across the team for asset creation as well as innovative placement and dissemination.Coordinates content promotion and paid ad campaigns on social platforms.Works largely onsite, but is happy and skillful out in the field capturing photos and footage.General Responsibilities

Independently creates basic and complex communications for print and e-distribution on behalf of department or functional area within department and in support of departmental goals and objectives; communications may be interdepartmental; staff, faculty, or student-focused; or external.Responds to inquiries and requests and explains policies, procedures, and context of communications.Manages relationships with various internal and external stakeholders and creates communications coverage for relevant initiatives, events, and programs.Prepares communications timelines and shares progress of communications toward relevant deadlines with manager, team members, and other relevant constituents.Regularly monitors relevant social media and news sites; researches relevant subject matter to increase knowledge in area(s) of specialty.Utilizes various communications software programs and delivers communications in multiple formats to a variety of audiences.May provide guidance to lower-level Communications Generalists.Qualifications

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

Additional Information

$53,000 - $58,750 based on education and experience levels

Work Location

IU Bloomington campus

This is primarily an in-person position with occasional remote work.
