QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or equivalent.Computer skills.Working knowledge of office equipment.Telephone/public relations skills.Demonstrate ability to manage regular office routines.Experience working with Oracle-based computer programs preferred (student information systems, human resources/payroll, finance/purchasing, etc.).Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the principal or Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable
REPORTS TO:
BUILDING ADMINISTRATOR
JOB GOAL:
To assure the smooth and efficient operation of the school office so that the office's maximum positive impact on the education of students can be realized
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain and update Crisis Plan Notebook and Staff Handbook to keep current for each school year.Keep records and disseminate information regarding student fees and provide information to the business office for the purpose of accountability for each school.Maintain student cumulative records to monitor student progress.Compose, read, file, record, and route incoming mail and/or messages for the purpose of effective communication within the buildingPrepare outgoing mail, notices, and bulletins for the purpose of maintaining communications within the community.Assist with preparation of student handbook for the purpose of maintaining current information for the school year.Provide office and clerical support to the principal and staff to ensure the smooth operation within the elementary office.Greet visitors, ascertains nature of business, and directs visitors to appropriate location in order to provide appropriate public relations.Compile data and prepare statistical reports in order to provide accurate information for each school.Maintain payroll records of teachers' attendance and process time cards for educational support staff for the purpose of payroll continuity/accountability.Maintain school activity calendar and process facility use requests for the purpose of maintaining accountability of building use.Maintain school inventory; manage requisitions; monitor supplies; issue requests for equipment maintenance for the purpose of maintaining accountability of supply usage within the school.Maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding student and staff information in order to remain in compliance with legal requirements and to maintain a professional work environmentAssist in the health room and provide health room coverage when the nurse is unavailablePerform other duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the board's policy on evaluation of support services personnel.
