Job DescriptionAppellate law firm seeks an experienced Legal Secretary for a permanent, full-time position in our Woodland Hills office. Prepare appellate briefs and documents for filing in the state and federal appellate and supreme courts. This includes marking authorities in briefs using Word, hyperlinking citations and creating bookmarks using Adobe Acrobat Pro DC. Experience with electronic filing via TrueFiling or similar program is required. General law office responsibilities include sorting mail, copying, scanning, answering phones and transferring calls, reading and responding to e-mails, case calendaring of due dates in Outlook and attorneys calendars, calls with the trial, appellate and supreme courts. Candidate will be responsible for a variety of administrative, clerical and legal duties, and will be an integral part of the legal team. The candidate must be a team player and possess an easygoing nature, good sense of humor and the ability to handle the occasional stressful situation. The candidate must be respectful of coworkers. Skills RequiredHS Diploma or GED. 5+ yrs exp in a law office working on litigation or appellate matters. Detail oriented, good interpersonal skills and excellent organization skills. Proficient in MS Office and Adobe Acrobat.
