Litigation Legal Assistant

to support the firm's growing office situated in

Woodland Hills, CA.Position Duties & Responsibilities:Drafts and formats correspondence, briefs and other legal documents.Prepare and process engagement letters, new client/matter requests.Files court documents accurately and timely, following federal, state and judge-specific requirements.Regularly and accurately proofread all documents to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to distribution or filing.Maintains updated client files, including paper-based and electronic files; complies with office policies regarding file management and recordkeeping.Maintains and follows up on attorney client deadlines and calendars appointments through the electronic calendaring and docketing systems.Arrange meetings and conference calls; may order meals, refreshments, and equipment, as requested.Coordinate travel arrangements for assigned attorneys, when requested.Accurately enter, review and revise timekeeper time entries including consistent identification of litigation codes, when applicable.Organizes travel for assigned attorneys and completes expense reimbursements in a timely manner.Reviews and ensures accuracy of vendor invoices; timely submittal of invoices and check requests.Participates in the timely review and submission of pre-bills and/or client bills.Able to juggle multiple assignments and/or deadlines while maintaining a professional demeanor and timely seeks assistance when needed.Provide assistance to visitors, paralegals and attorneys whose secretaries are absent, and accept overflow work from other secretaries.General Requirements:High school diploma or GED required (college degree is preferred, but not required).Five years of experience as a litigation legal secretary required; labor and employment experience is preferred, but not required.Ability to accurately format documents in accordance with firm standards for format, style and quality, including table of contents and table of authorities.State and federal court filing experience (manual and electronic).Demonstrated knowledge of State and Federal filing procedures (e.g., Pacer, ECF).Demonstrates strategic thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills.Technical Skills: Strong skills in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint; ability to use phone system, copier, scanner, fax, and printer. iManage (or other comparable document management system), CompuLaw (Aderant knowledge is a plus).Annual Salary/Compensation:Salary is up to
