Position Summary: The Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership (PDP) is seeking an Accounting Manager to support the PDP mission by providing financial oversight ensuring all financial activity is performed and reported in a timely and accurate manner. The Accounting Manager creates, implements, and oversees the financial policy and systems to support the operations of the organization. A successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining efficient controls as they relate to all aspects of the financial systems. This full-time position will report to the Vice President of Operations & Finance. The ideal candidate will be well organized, accurate, and able to work collaboratively in a team environment. Minimum qualifications include an accounting background, proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and QuickBooks or similar accounting software. Representative Duties and Responsibilities: Implement and follow accounting policies and procedures in accordance with internal control policies and GAAP. Ensures compliance with internal control mechanisms to ensure the effective and efficient financial management of the PDP. Maintains accurate and timely financial transactions in the Accounts payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll processes Supervise the Accounting Specialist, providing review and oversight of Accounts Payable and Credit Card input processes Manage month-end reconciliation, journal entries, and closing procedures to generate timely financial reports available for staff and board of directors Maintain accurate & timely tracking of grant-related expenditures and provides financial reports as required by staff, outside funders, consultants, and auditors Assist the VP of Operations & Finance with the organization's annual budgeting process Manages and coordinates the annual audit process in collaboration with the VP of Operations & Finance Assists VP of Operations & Finance with human resource functions including staff onboarding, payroll and benefits administration. Ensures that the PDP meets all legal and other requirements associated with the operations of the Business Improvement District including ensuring that the billing and collection of revenues is done on a timely basis and that liens are placed on delinquent properties where appropriate. Serves as the main liaison with property owners regarding the BID, including BID payment confirmations as requested. Desired Characteristics & Requirements BA degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent 3-5 years of financial management experience, preferably in the nonprofit sector Comprehensive understanding of not-for-profit accounting, fund accounting, grant management, internal controls, FASB and GAAP and tax compliance issues related to nonprofit organizations. Detail oriented, well organized and accurate Experience with QuickBooks or related financial software Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, including Excel. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment in support of the mission of the organization Ability to pass required clearances for employment Compensation Salary Range: $68,000 - $73,000 The PDP offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package commensurate with experience.
