Our firm is growing! We are seeking a talented Senior Accountant who will support a broad range of operations within a profitable, rapidly growing, acquisition-oriented, tech-focused insurance industry leader. This is a highly visible role that will provide a broad range of activities within both the accounting and financial planning and analysis departments. Primary responsibilities will include corporate, sales, and payroll tax reporting; monthly close activities, and expense analysis. The position requires experience with maintaining tax registrations, a strong payroll reporting background, and strong analytical and general ledger accounting expertise.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

Ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) or financial reporting standards.Set up and maintain federal, state and local registrations for corporate tax, payroll tax and sales tax reporting.Remit corporate tax estimated tax payments and amounts due with returns.Monitor and maintain AvaTax settings and registrations for sales tax calculations for multiple entities.Monitor and maintain state and local registrations for payroll taxes for multiple entities.Review and follow up with payroll service provider regarding all tax registrations.Review tax reporting by payroll service provider to ensure accurate and timely filing of returns.Review and analyze accounts, locate discrepancies, prepare account reconciliations, and journal entries.Prepare and post multi-entity payroll journal entries and accruals.Prepare and post multi-entity payroll allocations and various other allocations.Prepare GL reconciliations for various payroll accounts including commissions and bonuses.Prepare monthly and quarterly commission schedules for review.Provide external audit support and preparation (either on audited entity side or public accounting experience).Apply M&A accounting principles including opening balance sheets, system integrations, and GAAP reporting requirements.Work with internal/external teams to promote integrations and efficiency of accounting processes.Evaluate and make improvements to internal controls.Drive process improvements by enhancing accounting and internal reporting system integrations.Required Skills:

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting.Proven ability to utilize extensive experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals.A minimum of 4 years of progressive experience as a senior level accountant within the Public Accounting field.A thorough understanding of financial statements, general ledgers, trial balances, acquisitions and divestitures, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).Demonstrated advanced Excel skills including lookups and pivot tables.Proficiency with accounting software (system implementation a plus).Experience with multi-entity consolidated financial preparation.The ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with other departments, business units, and the Executive Team.Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills.The ability to effectively manage a variety of competing projects and work to tight deadlines.Proven excellence in communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.A history of working independently when needed and collaborating well within a team.Preferred consideration given for:

CPA with public accounting experience strongly preferred; in lieu of CPA, equivalent private company experience may be considered with demonstrated experience with respect to corporate taxes, payroll taxes and sales taxes.Experience with one or more of our internal software packages (Sage Intacct, CorPay, Avalara, Concur, Yooz, and Invoiced.com).Perks of working with us:
