Category Analyst

Basic Function
HF Sinclair in Dallas is seeking a Category Analyst to support the Category Manager in category research, analysis, category management, sourcing projects, and provides key metric reporting on procurement value delivery.
Job Duties
Researches and extracts spend data from HollyFrontier systems and creates meaningful reporting to identify trends, performance metrics and issues.Conducts industry and market research to understand assigned categories and creates reporting for category managers and business stakeholders.Assists in the design and interface with the business of multi-year category management plans.Works with the procurement team to provide regular and ad-hoc reporting of spend data to support ongoing category strategies.Develops quality control processes to ensure accurate data and coding of spend.Works with technical resources to plan and test system reporting and ensure data is accurate and timely.
Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their superior or other local VP's or managers, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.
Experience
A minimum of two (2) years of Procurement, Accounting, Finance or related Business experience is required.
Preferred Experience:
A minimum of two (2) years of experience in the oil and gas industry is preferred.
Education Level
A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field, or equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree, is required.
Required Skills
Strong skills in Microsoft Office Excel (e.g., V-Lookup, pivot tables); written and verbal communication; and strong analytical skills. Strong project management skills and ability to multi-task complex requirements. Intermediate reading, writing and mathematical skills.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with SAP and/ or eProcurement systems is preferred, as well as, experience with commodity codes and GL mapping.
Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility
Responsible for the supervision of contract workers.
Work Conditions
Office based with up to 20% travel by land and air required. Petroleum refinery, warehouse/plant environment, out-of-doors environment, and driver based environment including but not limited to chemicals, pressure vessels, tanks, rotating equipment, fumes and airborne particles. Subject to all temperatures, weather and varying road conditions. May be required to work extended hours and regularly exposed to outside weather conditions and varying road conditions.
