Department Information

DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Manages the student-athlete tutoring program and the FlightPlan program for student-athletes2. Manages and tracks FlightPlan community service activities, connecting student-athletes to available opportunities3. Meets with junior and senior student-athletes regarding internships and career goals4. Tracks the department's tutoring budget and assists leadership and athletic advisors with projects and requests5. Submits scholarship book lists and communicates with the bookstore bi-annually6. Supervises assigned staff and/or student assistants7. Organizes special events such as Top-Flight Owls Night and graduation luncheons8. Participates in the coordination and execution student-athlete Flight Nights and schedules guest speakers9. Oversees and monitors study hall participation10. May hire, train, and supervise student tutors and/or assigned staff11. Manages work schedules and payroll approval for student assistants and tutors12. Schedules tutors through tutoring software and communicates with department advisors on all tutoring-related issues13. Serves as a contact for service tickets and compiles and edits the end-of-term academic summary report14. Maintains social media accounts and manages the office calendar15. Handles data entry, phone, and email communication16. Provides office and event planning support to the department

Job Summary

Plans and implements program initiatives for the assigned college, department, and/or unit. Participates in the generation of program resources, communication, design and development of operating goals, objectives, and protocols. Serves as primary point for program implementation and operational matters. Provides technical, professional and programmatic guidance, consultation, and support.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Develops, plans and coordinates the implementation and execution of programs, special projects, events and other initiatives designed to achieve the overall mission, goals, and objectives of the assigned program(s) and/or department(s)2. Oversees and administers all facets and activities related to day-to-day operations of the assigned program(s) and/or departments3. Serves as liaison with internal and external clients on all matters relating to program and/or department activities4. Provides, administers and/or coordinates the provision of technical guidance, consultation, related support to clientele within area of program focus5. Assists with forecast projections and budget for each fiscal year and evaluates progress towards financial goals and may be responsible for the program or departments purchasing card (PCard)6. Prepares and delivers presentations and collateral for program and/or department and events7. Coordinates and administers the collection, compilation, and analysis of program activity data, prepares comprehensive program reports and evaluation summaries8. May coordinate, administer and monitor social media presence and program outreach9. May supervise and/or lead assigned staff and/or students assistants

Required Qualifications

Educational RequirementsBachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in related field

Required ExperienceOne (1) years of related work experience
