Join our Finance team and be part of the CoralTree Residence Collection, a renowned choice for managing premium and luxury residential resorts and boutique hotels. Our small finance team is defined by individuals with a genuine purpose, pride, and a strong sense of place.
The ideal candidate will oversee all financial aspects of the organization and ensure the company's financial health. This individual will be vital in developing financial strategies, managing financial reporting, and leading the finance team.
The Director of Finance will be based in Vail and directly oversee the financial reporting, accounting, tax and risk management functions of the Vail Residential Resort management business. This role oversees the financial reporting and provides leadership support to the Assistant Director of Finance, Finance Manager and Staff Accountant.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPrepare and present monthly financial statements, including variance reportsPrepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations with timely resolution of reconciling itemsLead budget and forecast preparation in a collaborative environment including participation with preparing and presenting multiple business plansPrepare reports that summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, looking at the past and into the futureMeet with department heads to review monthly financial statements and forecastsReview and approve all disbursementsManage the annual audit process and delegate audit tasks to the finance team, including HOA audits and reviewsEnsure compliance on regulatory licenses and permits, leases, contracts and proper execution of operational tax obligations, including monthly state sales tax filingsAssist in strategic planning and management meetings, providing financial guidance to the executive teamOversee accounting and budgeting for capital expendituresResponsible for presenting financial reports to owners and HOA's.Foster a team environment with a focus on teamwork, personal and professional development, and autonomyWork with People Services to ensure a high performing and high functioning finance teamResponsible for regular team member reviews and interviewing and hiring when requiredManage relationships with financial institutions, auditors, and other external partnersMaintain and update month end close checklists to maximize efficiency of the accounting teamQualifications
Preferred and Required Skills and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master's degree or CPA preferred)Proven experience in a senior financial management role, with at least 1 direct reportHospitality background, experience with complex and multi-property setupStrong understanding of financial data analysis and forecastingExcellent leadership and communication skillsSolution-oriented leader with previous supervisory experience requiredAbility to make strategic financial decisionsKnowledge of financial regulations and complianceMinimum two years of Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable experienceMinimum of two years in property management accountingExperience with accounting systems -MS Office, ProfitSword, PMS, OracleExperience in income audit, AP, and general accounting transactionsExcellent computer skills and knowledge of Excel spreadsheet applicationsPossess knowledge of general payroll functionsExcellent technical, analytical, and problem-solving skillsStrong organizational and time management skills with a keen attention to detailAbility to work autonomously, with little direction and oversight.Must be able to perform general job duties while multi-taskingAbility to work and communicate well with co-workers, vendors, guests, and ownersAbility to properly handle confidential and sensitive information.Ability to motivate a team and lead with the utmost moral and ethical judgement.Ability to work remotely as desired and in a collaborative office environment.Wage
Pay range $120,000 to $130,000 salary, plus annual Incentive Compensation bonus plan.
