Purpose of the Position:
As an Accountant, you will play a key role in our financial operations by caring for critical daily tasks such as processing invoices, receipts, payments, the month-end close, and maintaining general ledger account reconciliations. Reporting directly to the Controller, the Accountant will possess great attention to detail and be available to answer questions and address issues for team members and leadership.

Duties and Responsibilities:
In this Accountant role, you must be proficient and knowledgeable in all areas of GAAP accounting, accounting processes related to accounts payable, receivables, inventory costing, governance, and controls. The accountant must maintain accuracy, consistency, and timeliness in recording financial transactions, possess problem-solving skills, work well with fellow employees, customers, and vendors, and have strong computer skills working with accounting software and Excel.
The core of this position will be responsible for the following duties:
Prepare monthly journal entries in accordance with GAAP and internal reporting policiesLead month-end and year-end closing of Balance Sheet and Income Statement including bank and credit card reconciliationOwn the accounts receivable function, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing, credit processing, customer invoicing/payment portals, and collection activitiesProcess daily checks, credit cards, ACH, payments, credits, and obtain customer credit reportsAdminister customer requests such as W9 forms, change of address, etc.Release orders to be shipped based upon evaluating accuracy and completeness, customer account status, and marginAnalytical review of monthly financial statements that includes explaining budget to actual variances to the ControllerPerform monthly reconciliations of all balance sheet accountsComplete/assist monthly and quarterly sales and use tax filingsSupervise the accounting assistant and the receptionistUnderstand company AP and payroll process to assist as a backup as neededSupport Controller in the annual budget process, financial forecasts, and report variancesAssist with financial and regulatory auditsEnsure quality control over financial transactions and related supporting documents including account reconciliation schedulesManage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filingsPerform ad hoc duties assigned by internal and external stakeholdersAdditional duties as necessary and assigned by the ControllerSkills/Abilities:
Strong financial and operational analytical skillsStrong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsSound knowledge of GAAP accounting principles, standards, and regulationsMust be able to maintain privacy and confidentialityExperience in working with accounting software and databasesSuperior data management and data analysis skillsStrong critical thinking skills; problem-solving, and decision-makingAbility to manage multiple priorities, with attention to detail and accuracyMust have the ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reportsDemonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues at all levelsProficient in QuickBooks and mid-tier ERP systems, including transaction importIntermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly ExcelExcellent analytical skills and ability to resolve complex problems with multiple variablesExhibits and values integrity, teamwork, and an ever-forward attitudeAbility to learn new software as neededEducation and Experience:
BA or BS Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldA minimum of 3 years experience in a Finance and Accounting role with increasing responsibilitiesGeneral Ledger month-end financial close for manufacturing companyCorporate-level manufacturing experience requiredPhysical Requirements:
Some bending and stretching could be requiredProlonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computerMust be able to lift to 15 lbs.Benefits:
