The Staff Accountant - Technical Group is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of reconciliation processes and procedures, assistance in the implementation of new market analysis tools, and assistance in the annual financial statements audit(s) for multiple entities. This role reports to the Manager - Technical Group and has a working knowledge of auditing and generally accepted accounting standards (GAAP). The Staff Accountant - Technical Group takes initiative to ask questions, communicate any identified problems, and move projects forward timely and accurately.

Responsibilities
What You Will Do in This RolePrepare, monitor, and update various schedules, subledgers, and account reconciliations.Prepare, examine, and analyze journal entries in QuickBooks.Collaborate with management and other departments in month-end closing procedures.Assist in maintaining and improving accounting controls and procedures.Support generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) compliance in all accounting areasAssist with the preparation and gathering of support for internal requests and external audits.Assist in the development of clear documentation and supporting work papers.Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements analyses.Maintain timely and accurate electronic files of all documents consistent with the Company's document retention policy.Assist in the research and evaluation of any impact new accounting standards may have on the Company's accounting policies.Assist with accounting projects, E.g., process improvement initiatives, as needed.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications
What You Need to Join Our Team
Two years of accounting experience.Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Willingness to help and support peers and management as needed.Proficient with Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills.Ability to understand complex business operations and related financial flow.Ability to work within established systems, standards, and procedures.Strong quantitative, qualitative, and problem-solving skillsAbility to meet or exceed deadlines set by management.Attention to detail.Proficiency with QuickBooks is strongly preferred.Required Education/Certifications
Four-year degree in accounting preferred or substituted with suitable years of experience.Public Accounting ExperienceIntermediate Microsoft Excel skills.Basic to intermediate knowledge of accrual-based GAAP accountingWhy work for us?We are excited to provide:
