Copy.ai is looking for our 1st Senior Accountant to own all accounting responsibilities. Partnering closely with our CEO and Founder, this seasoned accountant will own all accounting aspects not limited to bookkeeping, A/P and A/R, and budgeting and revenue recognition. You are detail oriented to the finest degree, love and are passionate about numbers, and can also think big-picture and tie all the accounting with the trajectory and direction of Copy.ai.
What you'll do:
Generate AR invoices and apply cash to AR invoicesOwn revenue recognitionCreate a system for establishing budgets and tracking financial expensesPrepare reconciliations for all prepaid, accrued expenses, fixed assets, credit card and vendor/client monthly reportsIdentify and drive process improvements to gain efficiencies and reduce close timelineDevelop, maintain and improve internal controlsPrepare documents supporting internal and external audits and ensure the successful completion of those auditsSupport the implementation of new systems, tools, and processes to streamline close and build scalable solutionsAbout you:
6+ years of relevant accounting experience; Combination of public accounting (Big 4 strongly preferred) and industry experience (start-up through to becoming a public Company experience a plus)Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAPYou're an Excel/Spreadsheet wizard. You love, live, and breathe in spreadsheetsYou're an analytical and systems driven person. You love and are passionate about the numbers. Numbers make sense to you and balancing the books is critical to you.You're both meticulously detail-oriented and think big-picture and holisticallyYou're an articulate, concise, and thoughtful communicator. This role is highly cross-functional so you need to be able to collaborate and communicate effectively with various internal stakeholdersYou have experience with collaborating with leadership on budgetingExperience with general ledger functions and the month end/year end close process is strongly preferredExperience with financial audit preparation is strongly preferredExcellent problem solving skills; project management experience a plus, ability to work in a fast paceBased in the San Francisco Bay Area
