Gateways Hospital and Mental Health Center, located in Los Angeles, is a non-profit organization that provides an array of comprehensive mental health services for Children, Adolescents, Transitional Aged Youth, and Adults suffering from mental illness in the Greater Los Angeles area. The organization consists of a standalone fifty-five (55) )-bed hospital and six outlying outpatient facilities that have anywhere from fourteen (14) beds to one hundred and thirty-four (134) beds. The organization has approximately four hundred (400) employees.
SUMMARY OF POSITION
Serves as Lead Clinician at Gateways Crisis Residential location, monitoring daily clinical workflow. Serves as evaluations coordinator for both Satellite and Normandie locations, managing potential client referrals.
ESSENTIALS DUTIESMaintains accurate and up-to-date clinical charts with appropriate and timely completion of all required documentation, including but not limited to, assessments, progress notes, treatment and discharge.Provides full services as needed for coverage, including individual, group, couples, family psychotherapy, case recording and management, re-hospitalization. Meets all contracted monthly service requirements.Coordinates referral evaluations for incoming clients, including securing referral packets, scheduling or assigning interviews, and completing written assessment on each client.Makes and implements client disciplinary recommendations, as needed.Provides on-call coverage for emergency consultation and intervention outside of regular work hoursParticipates in assigned program, treatment planning, and in-service training meetings as scheduled.Productively participates in weekly individual and group supervision. Maintains and improves clinical skills, through supervision, training seminars and classes. Follows supervisor's directives.Maintains objective and professional relationship with clients at all timesWorks collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary treatment team, including timely and effective communications.Provides supervision to full-time and part-time clinicians.Communicates effectively with clients and their family members and significant othersMaintains active and effective liaison with relevant community agencies and initiates collateral contact with family, friends, board and care operators, referring agencies and professionals as needed for the client's continuity of careExercises good judgment by objectively and unemotionally analyzing facts, weighing evidence, utilizing clinical skills and reaching sound conclusionsResponds appropriately under difficult or stressful circumstancesKnowledge of medications, working knowledge of current diagnostic manual. Clinical experience in provision of individual or group treatment and training with multi-racial (ethnic) populations.Qualifications
EDUCATION & CERTIFICATES
Masters or Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology or related area from an accredited universityREQUIREMENTS
California Licensed Psychologist orCalifornia Licensure as LCSW or LMFTMust pass Department of Justice (DOJ), Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), and Community Care Licensing (CCL) background clearance.Valid California Driver's license.TB clearance.Driving record acceptable for coverage by Gateways insurance carrier.Fire and Safety Training*.First Aid Training Certification*.CPR Certification*.Crisis Prevention Institute Training (CPI)*** Note: If indicated certifications/licenses are lacking, they must be obtained within 180 days of hire.
**Training needs to be completed within 30 days from the date of hire on a designated date provided by on-boarding. Staff need to be certified at the commensurate level for their role to perform their job duties (staff will be taken off the schedule if certification is not achieved).
