Canterbury Court is looking for an Enrichment Project Manager to join our family. The Enrichment Program Manager position is located in the Healthcare division of our Life Plan Community (LPC). We invite you to experience Canterbury Court.

Requirements

Recreation and leisure activities are an important component of overall well-being for our residents living in Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living neighborhoods. The Enrichment Program Manager is responsible for the coordination, development, and maintenance of a quality activity program based on the needs of the residents and to oversee and guide the activity associates that are supervised. This person must be a qualified individual who is available on a regular schedule and utilizes community and family resources.

Develop, organize and implement a high-quality recreation program that meets the individual needs and interests of the residents in Sage Glen and Azalea View neighborhoods. This includes monthly trips, musical entertainment, special events, holiday events, and connection with community volunteers (Canterbury Connections, Boy Scouts, visits from elementary school).

Oversee and manage the Activity Assistants in executing the recreational and leisure program. Coordinate and communicate with nursing staff to ensure resident attendance in leisure activities.

Coordinate with beauty shop for Sage Glen residents.

Coordinate resources for residents, family and staff related to service area. Ensure program has proper supplies to execute each leisure activity.

Provide documentation for each Sage Glen resident which includes: Activity Assessment, Admission Notes, Volunteer

Responsibilities, Quarterly Progress Note, Quarterly Assessment Update, and Status Change Progress Note. Attend weekly care plan meetings for Sage Glen. Ensure each resident has care plan interventions related to activities and leisure.

Assist staff in keeping activity and living rooms attractive and uncluttered. This position oversees seasonal and theme decorations for Sage Glen and Azalea View.

Post pictures of special events and maintain tapestry board.

Ensure residents in Sage Glen and Azalea View receive check-ins and leisure engagement as mapped out in their care plans.

Create calendars for distribution and posting. Distribute room calendars to all Sage Glen residents and post calendars in common areas.

Work with Director of Nursing on developing and maintaining a departmental budget.

Provide in-services on activity programs to staff and families as needed.

Coordinate with Wisteria Park Program Manager on joint activities.

Maintain compliance with state and federal regulators and facility policies regarding activity programs.

Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

Minimum Degree in Therapeutic Recreation or comparable experience in a healthcare setting.

JOB KNOWLEDGE

Shall be knowledgeable of the aging process and therapeutic interventions applicable to specific disease processes. Should be able to perform duties in a nursing home setting with long-term care residents. Should demonstrate effective communication with residents, staff, families, and guests. Should demonstrate knowledge of state and federal regulations in order to exercise compliance for the department. Should be able to access community resources. Should have experience in advocacy of resident rights.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

Should demonstrate professional judgment as it relates to the resident and the position. Should have training as an Activity Professional. Should have training in the aging process, and the psychosocial needs of the population. Should be able provide support to residents and family during time of illness and bereavement.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed in a comfortable interior environment, although some work may be required to be performed out of doors. May be exposed to contagious diseases. May work with combative residents. May be required to stand for lengthy periods of time and push wheelchairs.
