Summary:
Neuberger Berman is building out the Data Governance practice across the enterprise. The Enterprise Data Governance Team is focused on ensuring that data is fit for its intended business purpose and aligns to overall business objectives. We are looking for an experienced associate to take a consultative approach in enhancing the company’s use of data for strategic initiatives across the enterprise. You will be working on onboarding strategically important data domains that will lead to the identification of strategic projects that will be focused on improving data quality leading to the improvement of operational effectiveness and enhancing our reporting and AI capabilities.
Responsibilities:
Liaise between the business and technology groups on data projects
Document business process maps and analyze process challenges and issues
Lead meetings with the business leaders, collect data and process requirements
Demonstrate insight to ask leading questions to elicit information
Compile data from multiple systems, performing data analysis, design, definition, and profiling
Document findings and present the results of analysis to the business
Responsible for updating the firm’s business glossary and data catalog
Log data and process issues in the Enterprise Data Management system
Qualifications:
5 years of experience working with data - data analysis or business analysis
Prior experience working in Asset Management, Financial Services, or Consulting is preferred
Business analysis including business process mapping and requirement definition
Must be detail oriented with the ability perform in depth data analysis
Ability to perform data discovery, build data glossaries and catalogs, perform data analysis and data profiling in a matrixed environment
Able to work independently and effectively while managing multiple open work streams simultaneously across all levels of the organization
Experience with one or more of the following topics: Data Management, Data Profiling, Data Architecture, Data Quality, Data Glossaries, Data Catalogs, Taxonomy, Data Modeling, Metadata, Data Discovery, Business Semantics, Reporting Dashboards and Visualization, ETL, Data Intake, Search
Familiarity with financial services data domains/subdomains including Product, Party, Client, Securities, Accounts, Legal Entities, Contracts, Employees, Performance, Trade, Transaction, etc.
Solid technical skills including working experience with one or more of the following: SQL, Python, R, Java, JavaScript, REST, JSON, XML, VBA, Collibra, Alation, Ab Initio, Informatica solutions for MDM, DQ, ETL, integration, metadata management
Familiarity with BI reporting tools such as Tableau, Business Objects, is a plus
Strong written and verbal communication
Proficient in MS Excel, Visio and PowerPoint

Compensation Details
The salary range for this role is $110,000-$135,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in New York City. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for a discretionary bonus. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), life insurance and other benefits to eligible employees.
Note: No amount of pay is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned, vested, and determinable.
