Job Title: Back Office Medical Assistant FloaterJob DescriptionThe Floater will perform quality team-based patient care under the direct supervision of a clinician for both clinical and administrative functions to promote health and wellness in a safe and friendly environment. This role supports clinicians and care management teams in assessing, maintaining chronic disease management, examining, and treating patients. The medical assistant floater is responsible for performing all laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks. This floating employee will be working in various offices to support either in the MA role or dedicated lab functions.ResponsibilitiesPerform quality team-based patient care under direct supervision of a clinician.Support clinicians and care management teams in assessing, maintaining chronic disease management, examining, and treating patients.Perform all laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks.Float from one location to another as patient queue demands.Communicate and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public.Assess emergencies and act accordingly.Essential SkillsKnowledge of laboratory quality control requirements.Knowledge of basic medical terminology.Knowledge of universal precaution procedures in medical safety practices.Phlebotomy skills.Ability to communicate and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public.Ability to assess emergencies and act accordingly.Flexibility to float from one location to another.Independent, responsible, and organized.Additional Skills & QualificationsHS diploma required.2 years' experience within clinic/back office healthcare setting.MA diploma OR Certified MA (CMA) OR 3 years' MA experience.Phlebotomy experience required.MUST be able to take vitals (manual vitals preferred).Active BLS required.Active driver's license required.Flexible to adjust to changing work environment.Bilingual (English-Spanish) preferred.Experience with TriMed EMR preferred.Work Environment100% onsite: Monday to Friday, 7:45 am-5:00 pm AND Every Other Saturday, 8:00 am-12:00 pm. Floating between Ft. Lauderdale South and North, East Pompano, Heron Bay, and Coral Springs. Specific locations include: Ft. Lauderdale South (789 S Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale, FL), Ft.
