Position Summary

As the Senior Total Rewards Specialist, you will significantly contribute to the execution of South Jersey Industries’ healthcare, wellness, 401K and other benefit programs. You will also collaborate with vendors to guarantee the accurate and timely administration of benefits while providing exceptional customer service to our employees. In partnership with other Total Rewards leaders, you will assist in conducting analysis and interpretation related to the organization’s compensation programs and assist in annual compensation planning.

Essential Duties:

Manage the 401(k) program, lead the annual 401 (k) audit, and respond to escalated 401(k) inquiries from employees relating to enrollments, plan changes and contribution amounts.

Oversee the day-to-day management of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, wellness initiatives, and other perks.

Ensure timely resolution of employee inquiries.

Responsible for troubleshooting any data errors, process breakdowns, and employee escalations and working with vendors, payroll, and IT teams to perform a root cause analysis and correction of the errors identified.

Assisting with the implementation of new benefit plans, systems, processes, vendors, and acquisitions.

Develop employee education, communication material, and maintain web content designed to help employees understand company benefits and other related incentive programs.

Assisting with the preparation and compliance of government filings, plan audits, and other tax-reporting requirements, including the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

Evaluation of Benefits coverage, benchmarking, and cost analysis.

Researching and analyzing key perspectives (employee, external labor market, cost, and workforce requirements).

Incorporating traditional compensation and benefits elements as well as career frameworks, and work/life benefits.

Evaluates the cost impact of changes to compensation or benefits packages.

Provides assistance during annual compensation planning and open enrollment.

Required Skills:

Good working knowledge of IRS, DOL, ERISA, FLSA, HIPAA, ACA, COBRA, FMLA and applicable regulations.

Experience with the administration of health plans and retirement plans for union/non-union employee populations.

Proficient in Microsoft office including Excel and PowerPoint.

Excellent research, problem solving, and analytical skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

Advanced certification (CEBS, CBP, FSA, SHRM) is a plus.

Experience working in HRIS platform a plus (Workday preferred).

Experience in Compensation Administration preferred.

Experience with market pricing and salary survey submission preferred.

Qualifications

Required Background:

Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business or in related discipline required.

Minimum of 5 years relevant benefit administration experience.

Minimum of 9 years relevant benefit administration experience in lieu of degree.

Compensation Range:

$67,500 - 108,000

We are committed to pay transparency and ensuring equitability compensation for all employees. The pay range for this position reflects the base salary only and does not include benefits, bonuses, or other forms of compensation that might be part of the total compensation package. The specific salary offered will be based on a candidate’s qualifications, education, and experience.
