Job Description
As the leader of a large team in a complex environment, your role as a Senior Finance Manager will be focused on process improvements, streamlining data flows, and collaborating with various partners across the business.
A day in the Life:
Process Improvement: You will develop a comprehensive process improvement strategy to standardize data flows. This involves analyzing the current processes, identifying bottlenecks or inefficiencies, and recommending an implementing process enhancements to streamline and optimize the invoicing workflow.
Leadership: You will manage a team of 4 direct reports, with an overall team of 45 individuals, within the Invoicing Swimlane. This includes providing clear direction, setting performance goals, and fostering a culture of teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: You will collaborate closely with partners from Finance, Client Services, and Operations to understand their needs and capture feedback on the invoicing process. By fostering strong relationships and effective communication, you will facilitate the exchange of information, address concerns or issues, and ensure the smooth flow of data and documentation between departments.
Customer Experience: Your role will focus on improving the overall customer experience by aligning our processes with the needs and expectations of internal and external partners. This involves actively seeking and acting upon feedback, identifying difficulties, and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness in the invoicing cycle.
Change Management: You will lead efforts associated with process improvements, ensuring smooth transitions and minimizing disruptions. This includes effectively presenting changes to partners, providing training and support, and supervising the adoption and effectiveness of new processes or systems.
Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure that the processes follow relevant accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal controls. This involves implementing appropriate checks and balances, conducting regular reviews, and addressing any identified risks or issues.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting: You will lead reporting on unbilled results and other key performance indicators (critical metrics) to measure the effectiveness of process improvements and monitor progress toward goals. By analyzing data and generating regular reports, you will provide insights to management, and enable data-driven decision-making.
Keys to Success:
Education
Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
CPA, or equivalent, preferred
Experience
7+ years experience in accounting or finance
5+ years of directing a team in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 including PowerPoint, Excel, and PowerBI
Strong analytical skills and ability to action from insight
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to manage time independently
Self-motivated, high level of flexibility and strong work ethic with the goal to get the job done.
