Director of R&D – Flavors
Certified Flavorist is Required
The primary focus of this position is to lead the team in the application of the flavor portfolio and technologies through both short- and long-term projects and demos for customer and market facing opportunities that support customer development and growth as well as leading daily brief-related tasks and apply knowledge during the flavor selection, evaluation and application development. Serve as technical expert, project leader and advisor to the commercial team including marketing, sales, flavor creation, and customers for specific applications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Deliver against customer briefs, ensuring that flavors and finished products align with project constraints (cost, flavor legislation, label restrictions, processing, etc.)Independently develop and creatively present custom demos catered to the client, demonstrating our capabilities, our understanding of current flavor trends and their relevance to the customerTechnology lead in the application of our flavor portfolio to demonstrate points of differenceComplete assigned projects in a timely and professional manner, ensuring all project constraints are metPrioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously while collaborating with the Flavor Creation teamAssess Trends joint with Marketing to update Demo lists and provide direction for Customer Innovation presentation for salesGenerate tasting sheets for customer presentations joint with marketingManage and update demo catalog to support customer presentationsSupport & attend key tradeshows with application development and resource deploymentWork effectively in our internal system, adhering to standards of formulationSupport sales with training updates on the portfolio and with customer visits when needed, providing technical assistance and explanation of products being demonstrated
