OverviewUnder the general direction of the Director of Volunteer Programs & RSVP, and AmeriCorps Seniors program policy guidelines,
the RSVP Volunteer Coordinator has responsibility for project coordination of the AmeriCorps Seniors Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP).
Responsibilities
Work in cooperation with VNA of the Treasure Coast staff, Advisory Council members and volunteer station staff to obtain resources for programs.
Plan, develop, and implement ongoing public relations and marketing opportunities, including social media, in cooperation with VNA of the Treasure Coast.
In collaboration with the Project Director, develop and implement an outreach and recruitment strategy.
Enhance the total efforts of RSVP through active involvement with community organizations, other national service programs, where appropriate,
In collaboration with the Volunteer Coordinator, support newly assigned RSVP volunteers through orientation and training.
Provide ongoing support to RSVP volunteers.
Participate in planning and implementation of recognition of volunteers, organizations, and individuals who have contributed to the support of RSVP.
In conjunction with RSVP staff, appraise volunteer performance.
Adhere to and administer personnel policies and procedures for RSVP staff consistent with those of VNA of the Treasure Coast.
When funds allow, attend training conferences conducted or authorized by Americorps Seniors
QualificationsBachelor’s Degree preferred, training and/or experience in work with those over 55 years of age and volunteers is essential. Flexibility, management skills, computer literacy, and personal transportation are requirements. Experience managing federal grants is preferred. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills necessary for preparing grants, written reports and giving oral presentations and trainings. Ability to attend after-hours and weekend meetings/events is required. Regional travel is a requirement of this position.
