Build and manage a dynamic portfolio of 75-125 prospective donors and supporters, securing major gift commitments that align with CSU Monterey Bay's fundraising goals.
Engage Actively:
Make 12 to 15 meaningful contacts per month, focusing on identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors to foster strong, long-term relationships.Strategize for Success:
Develop compelling, tailored engagement and solicitation strategies, guiding prospective donors through every stage of the cultivation and stewardship cycle. Leverage the moves management system to track progress and refine your approach.Collaborate with Key Campus Partners:
Partner closely with academic colleges, Deans, faculty, and staff to ensure development efforts align with their needs and goals, providing a cohesive approach to fundraising.Support Annual Giving:
Contribute to the success of the Annual Gift program by nurturing assigned prospects, ensuring sustained support for the university's mission and initiatives.Strategic Planning Support:
Assist the Vice President for University Advancement in shaping and executing a strategic development plan that drives the university forward.Embrace Variety:
Engage in committee work and special projects that enhance development processes, benefiting both the university and its broader community.Event Management:
Organize and lead special events to engage prospective donors, employing marketing strategies to maximize participation and impact.Manage Campaigns:
Oversee college-based solicitations and special campaigns, collaborating with internal partners on strategy development, scripting, and execution.University-Wide Coordination:
Support the University Development Office in its overall functions and coordination of activities, including liaising with other university offices to ensure smooth collaboration and alignment.Committee Participation:
Actively participate in committees and organizations to ensure that appropriate development policies and procedures are in place, safeguarding the university's best interests.Supervise Staff:
Provide supervision, evaluations, and feedback to assigned support staff, ensuring the successful execution of all areas of responsibility.What you will bring:Equivalent to Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.Three (3) years of demonstrated success record of successful closure of major gifts of $25,000 and greater and increased responsibility in sales or major gift officer in higher education, academic medical institution or nonprofit organization.Experience with a nonprofit organization, demonstrating an understanding of philanthropic principles and practices a plus.Preferred Qualifications:Five (5) years of additional related annual fund, major or principal gift experience. Demonstrated success in philanthropic community engagement.Fundraising/donor relations or sales experience in support of Institutional priorities. Knowledge of the local philanthropic community.Experience working in higher education.
