Corporate Cost Accountant
at Microwave Products Group in West Chester, OH, you will support the military community by being responsible for managing and analyzing cost structures to ensure accurate financial reporting and strategic cost management across the MPG Group. This role will play a critical part in maintaining standard costs and providing detailed cost analysis to support decision-making processes and improve financial performance. It's our values that defines us to all of our key audiences: our shareholders, customers, prospective employees and especially ourselves.Primary Responsibilities:Responsible for managing and maintaining the cost accounting systems across multiple companies, incorporating an understanding of manufacturing operations and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Work across diverse companies and product lines to align costing systems and policiesWork with international intercompany partners to ensure that costing systems/inventory valuations are aligned with IFRS requirements for local reportingEnsure compliance with international transfer pricing policies and tolling agreementsPerforms annual cost roll and inventory revaluation, works with closely with other departments to enhance accuracy of cost componentsProvide detailed cost analysis and reports for management, including product costing, pricing strategies, and profitability analysis
Analyze cost variances and provide insights into cost behavior and trendsDevelop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to cost efficiency and profitabilityRecommend and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracyIdentify cost-saving opportunities and recommend strategies for cost reductionConduct regular cost audits and reviews to ensure compliance and accuracy
Collaborate with other departments to gather cost estimates and financial projections
Knowledge, skills and abilities strongly preferred include:Strong cost accounting skills, including a thorough understanding of US GAAP costing methodologiesStrong financial analysis skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skills requiredAdvanced proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite required (especially Excel)Strong mathematical skills requiredStrong attention to detail and a high level of confidentiality requiredKnowledge of an integrated ERP system is a plus
Requirements Include:Must be a US person (US Citizen or Permanent Resident/Green Card Holder)Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance requiredMinimum of 5-10 years of previous cost accounting experience, preferably in a corporate settingKnowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) regulationsExperience with foreign currency requiredExperience with intercompany transactions preferredExperience with IFRS preferredExperience with international tolling agreements highly desiredExperience within a manufacturing environment highly desiredExperience with Government Contracts preferredCPA or CMA certification highly desired
