Marine and Fisheries Specialists (various roles) Qualifications required: • International Project Manager - Marine Fisheries Management: The preferred expert should have a master’s degree in fisheries management or a closely related area including fisheries co-management, Ecosystem Approach Fisheries Management (EAFM), Monitoring Control and Surveillance (MCS), fisheries science, fisheries policy development, fish processing and marketing, fisheries enterprise development, with excellent knowledge and skills in project management and stakeholder engagement working in donor-funded projects with government. Excellent team-building skills are an advantage. • International Data Scientist: The preferred expert should have a tertiary qualification in data systems and data science or related subjects – minimum of master level. The data scientist should be familiar with the tools used by the Data Analysts. The highest priority of the Data Scientist is to provide the link between data and information delivery to clients and as such will need to demonstrate the achievement in the identification and communication of these needs. • International Data Analysts: The preferred expert should have a tertiary qualification in data systems and data science or related subjects. The international expert should have a postgraduate – master level in Oceanography or equivalent. The highest priority of the Data Analyst is to provide the link between data and information delivery to clients and as such will need to demonstrate the achievement in the identification and communication of these needs. • International Mangrove Restoration Expert: The preferred expert should have a graduate qualification in coastal ecology or forestry; should have 10 years experience in mangrove management and restoration programs including a detailed understanding of mangrove ecology and productivity; should have awareness and knowledge of mangrove species within Southeast Asia, and have a proven experience of 5 years of mangrove interventions; should have the ability to work with CSO/NGO partners. • International Blue Swimming Crab Expert: The expert should have an advanced degree or technical diploma in aquaculture with specialization in stock enhancement. In-depth knowledge in hatchery design for mariculture production systems, with emphasis on blue swimming crab, fishery resources management, and natural resources management. Excellent skills in stakeholder engagement working with coastal communities and fish traders in setting up crab hatchery. • International Mussel/Oyster Mariculture Expert: The expert should have an advanced degree or technical diploma in aquaculture with specialization in shellfish aquaculture and mariculture of mussels and oysters. Good knowledge area of marine biology, mariculture production systems, fishery resources management, natural resources management, or related areas focusing on the Blue Economy Value Chain. Excellent skills in stakeholder engagement working with coastal communities in donor-funded projects with the clients. • International Blood Cockle/Clam Expert: The expert should have an advanced degree in aquaculture with a specialization in shellfish aquaculture and mariculture of cockles and clams. Good knowledge area of marine biology, mariculture production systems, fishery resources management, natural resources management, or related areas focusing on Blue Economy Value Chains. Excellent skills in stakeholder engagement working with coastal communities in donor-funded projects with clients. • International Mariculture Markets and Product Development Expert: The expert should have a postgraduate degree in economics, business administration, or mariculture; and should have good knowledge of mariculture marketing and international markets in Southeast Asia context. • International Food Safety – Seafood risk monitoring and market access Expert: The expert should have a tertiary qualification in international trade in policy or equivalent experience. Industry qualifications — a professional qualification in food safety management would be an advantage. • International Marine Food Safety Inspection - Organization Expert: The expert should have a tertiary qualification in food safety, business management, or equivalent experience and has professional or industry qualifications. Qualifications in food safety management would be an advantage. The expert should have at least 15 years of work experience in development of competent authorities. • International Food Inspection Trainer – Marine Seafood Expert: The expert should have a tertiary qualification in food safety or equivalent experience and have professional or industry qualifications — a sound understanding of inspection methodology and international market requirements is needed. The expert should have at least 15 years of work experience in the development of competent authorities. How to apply? Professional experience required: You will have at least: • 10 years of work experience providing expert services in the marine fisheries sector, particularly in Southeast Asia or South Asia; • 10 years of experience working for international donors, such as the ADB, AFD, EU, USAID, GIZ, SIDA, and others; • Proficient in preparing high-quality reports; • Excellent oral and written English language skills.
