This is a hybrid role (3 days onsite/ 2 days remote) based in our Fairfax office.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The Program Manager is responsible for the Cost, Schedule, and Customer Interface of one or more programs and may support proposal efforts.Must be experienced in managing programs of technical nature, preferably program(s) with electronics design and manufacturing components.Must be proficient in schedule creation (MS PPT), financial management (MS Excel), customer relationships, and managing contract requirements and statements of work.Minimal-to-moderate management guidance from peers and senior program managers is expected for this position.All Program Managers are expected to provide guidance to other PMs as necessary, and to help improve Program Management processes and procedures.A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required within 3 months.QUALIFICATIONS:Education:Degree in engineering (preferred), business or related discipline or equivalent experience/education, with PMP CertificationKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:4 - 10 years of relevant program management experienceMust possess strong oral and written communication skills in order to clearly and effectively convey status, risks and issues, and interface with a highly technical engineering and leadership staffSolid financial management and planning skills for both labor and materialsUnderstanding of commercial and government contracts, Terms and Conditions, payment plans and fee structuresAbility to fully manage the Statement of Work (SOW) and all contractual requirements, to ensure successful program executionAbility to manage risk and opportunities, mitigation plans, probabilities, and corresponding financial impactsSolid MS Office skills, especially Word, Excel, Project, and Power Point
Excel - Establish and maintain budgetary baselines, track actual expenditures, and forecast future costsProject - Establish and maintain a resource-loaded program schedule with predecessor and successor logic to show critical path, track customer and internal milestones, and identify time-phased resource needsWord - Create and update documents for delivery to the customer, provide to subcontractors for direction, and respond to internal requirements for documentationPower Point - Creating presentations for program status, design reviews and other meetings both internally and externally
