BASIC FUNCTION
The Accounting Manager is responsible for financial management, reporting, accounting, tax, risk management and estate planning. Partners with the Managing Partner to determine strategic goals and priorities. Responsible for building and managing the infrastructure and operations of the Family Office. This role is for a strategic and proactive leader with strong relationship management and advisory skills and will instill the confidence and credibility needed to become a trusted advisor to the Managing Partner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Support production of internal investment documents and communicate key findings and recommendations.Generate all month, quarter and annual reports and prepare complimentary reports needed to complete reporting package.
Prepare several standalone reports (bi-weekly cashflows, real estate related schedules, projects)
Responsible for General Ledger maintenance as needed (chart of accounts maintenance, ledger entries, etc.)Maintain and oversee books, records and schedule of investments and ledgers for several holdings.Cost tracking of a diverse collection of capital improvement and operations projects.Responsible with the compilation and reporting of annual budgets.Optimize tax planning.
Spearhead preparation and information gathering for annual tax filings.Perform high level compliance review and tax return signoff.Maintain knowledge of new tax issues and general business trends.
Conduct investment analysis, participate in deal structuring.Coordinate due diligence execution and support transaction negotiations.Interface with internal and external parties as needed.Schedule accounting and tax engagements and monitor timelines for all deliverables.Support production of internal investment documents and communicate key findings and recommendations.Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Understands and can manage complex financial structuresAnalytical skills that will allow to make sound business recommendations.Strong communication skills.
Establish strong relationships; both live and utilizing different communication platforms.Established bank relationships.
Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task.
Accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent organizational skills.Must have IT fluency.
Quickbooks experience.Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.Comfortable using a computer for various tasks.
Remote to begin; might evolve to hybrid role in the future.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field.Certified Public Accountant (CPA)7+ years’ experience relevant experience in the family office/wealth management industry, including a foundation in public accounting; demonstrated skills and experience in providing quality financial management, accounting, tax planning and reporting for individuals, trusts, and other entities.
