Responsible for answering and returning workers' compensation insurance phone calls
Verifying workers' compensation coverage and obtaining authorizations for surgeries, MRI, and diagnostic testing referrals when needed
Sending office notes to workers' compensation case managers, adjusters, and employers daily
Responsible for noting all interactions with case managers, patients, and employers in the patient's medical file
Coordinating causation, impairment, and IME requests/appointments
Coordinating therapy, injection, and/or testing appointments with the adjuster/facility
Maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with all HIPAA rules and regulations
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent is required
One year of medical office insurance and workers' compensation experience is preferred
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills
Knowledge of personal computer applications and Electronic Medical Record
Proficient in foundational computer skills, such as typing, and the ability to learn new software programs
