Position Responsibilities:
Politely greeting patients and making them feel welcome in our clinic
Answering all incoming calls related to Physical Therapy in a friendly and efficient manner
Communicating with patients to schedule, cancel, or reschedule physical therapy appointments
Verifying patient demographic information and updating information as needed; scanning insurance and identification cards; verifying insurance eligibility and updating patient accounts accordingly
Directing or assisting patients in completing appropriate paperwork and answering patient questions
Managing point of service collections (co-pays, co-insurance, deductibles, self-pay); performs daily cash box reconciliation
Accurately preparing patient charts for upcoming appointments
Assisting coworkers in the completion of other general office duties
Participating in training new employees as needed
Straightening and maintaining a clean patient reception area
Maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with all HIPAA rules and regulations
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent is required
One year of customer service, receptionist, medical office, and/or insurance experience is preferred
Knowledge of customer service principles and techniques
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
Works well in a fast-paced, team environment
Ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively and accurately
