About the Role
The Investment Liaison at T. Rowe Price plays a critical role in bridging the gap between our Investment Teams and other areas of the firm including, Sales, Distribution, Operations and Client Services. This individual will leverage their deep understanding of insurance regulations, STAT (Statutory Accounting Principles), GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) accounting, and the unique investment objective of insurance clients to ensure that our strategies align with their financial goals and regulatory requirements.
The Fixed Income Investment Liaison works to support portfolio management operations and is generally a representative of the investment strategy to internal groups and a conduit to the investment staff. Responsibilities include portfolio attribution, quantitative support, representing investments in new account onboarding, marketing support and other special client needs including reporting, compliance, and audit.
Role Summary:
Requires conceptual knowledge of theories and practices in their own job discipline. Works within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines. Accountable for their own contributions; regularly verifies that work quality and timeliness meet team objectives. Works under established parameters for daily work; may receive more guidance on new assignments. Supports investment teams through all stages of the client life cycle by managing standard investment-related, operational activities.
Responsibilities:
Represents Investment teams in all stages of the client account lifecycle including new account onboarding, account lifecycle changes, and marketing support and client due diligence.
Liaises with portfolio managers across multiple strategies and sectors to understand and align process and workflow of management and client engagement related to insurance clients.
Supports the ongoing operational activities associated with portfolio management and credit research. Example activities includes researching and analyzing investment and performance data; generating bespoke investment, risk, and performance-related reporting; and resolving low to moderately complex investment-related operational issues independently.
Provide various quantitative reports for positioning and metrics including book yield, book income and income forecasting.
Drafts response to complex requests for review by more experienced managers.
Develops content as directed by investment staff.
With guidance and oversight from management, serves as project participant on investments-initiated projects.
Develops use cases and testing plans and participates in unit testing as requested to ensure successful outcomes.
Under the direction management, participates in training new employees on policies and procedures.
Typical Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience AND
5+ years of total relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
At least 5 years of experience in investment management with a focus on insurance clients strongly preferred
Working knowledge of STAT and GAAP accounting principles and their application in the insurance industry
Strong understanding of insurance regulation, compliance requirements, and investment objectives
Proficient in financial modeling, reporting tools and portfolio management software including Clearwater Analytics
Strong technical skills are needed to manage analytics and portfolio attribution
Critical thinking skills and abilities to solve complex problems
Strong communication skills including technical writing to concisely summarize and communicate between investment personnel and operational teams
Completion of or progress towards an MBA, MSF, CFA, or CPA program
FINRA Requirements: FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.
Work Flexibility: This role is eligible for hybrid model working 3 days on-site per week, 2 days off-site per week.

Base salary ranges:
$103,500.00 - $177,000.00 for the location of: California, New York
$91,000.00 - $155,500.00 for the location of: Washington, D.C
$83,000.00 - $141,000.00 for the location of: Colorado, Maryland, Washington and all other US locations
Placement within the range provided above is based on the individual’s relevant experience and skills for the role . Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package . Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon company and individual performance.
