1 Director of Government Contracting CostQuest Associates (CQA) Position Description We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Government Contracting to lead our capture efforts and expand our presence in federal, state, and international government markets. Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer, the Director of Government Contracting will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive government contracting strategy to identify, pursue, and win new business opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in government contracting, with experience developing and executing strategies for federal, state, and international government clients. Position Responsibilities: Develop and implement a comprehensive government contracting strategy to identify, pursue, and win new business opportunities with federal, state, and international government clients. Lead the capture planning process, including opportunity identification, competitive analysis, teaming strategies, and win theme development. Cultivate relationships with key government stakeholders, decision-makers, and influencers to understand client needs, requirements, and procurement processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business development, sales, marketing, and operations, to develop tailored solutions and proposals that meet government requirements and objectives. Manage the end-to-end capture process, from opportunity identification and qualification through proposal submission and contract award. Lead capture team meetings, reviews, and presentations to ensure alignment and progress towards capture goals and objectives. Monitor and track government contracting opportunities, market trends, and competitive intelligence to inform strategic decision-making and resource allocation. Represent CostQuest at industry conferences, events, and networking forums to enhance visibility and thought leadership within the government contracting community. Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to capture team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Political Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. Required Skills: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in government contracting, with a track record of success in developing and executing capture strategies for federal, state, and international government clients. Strong understanding of government procurement processes, regulations, and compliance requirements, including FAR, DFAR, and other relevant regulations. Demonstrated experience leading capture efforts for complex, high-value contracts, including contract vehicles such as GWACs, and GSA Schedules. Proven ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with government stakeholders, decision-makers, and influencers. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts and solutions to diverse audiences. Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate market trends, identify emerging opportunities, and develop innovative solutions to meet client needs. Strong leadership and team-building skills, with experience leading cross-functional teams and driving results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
