RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE COST ACCOUNTANT:Prepare monthly journal entries and month end close for cost accounting dataReview JEs carefully for anomalies and other inconsistenciesPrepare monthly and quarterly accounting reports for submission to managementConduct inventory reserve analysis on a quarterly basis and generate reports for senior managementPrepare suggestions for changes to policies or procedures to increase cash flowReview rates of depreciation, labor and overhead and suggest policy changes to improve bottom lineGenerate PPV reports and analyze findingsEstablish standard costs and update them as appropriateMaintain and review the general ledger and reconcile balance sheetsAnalyze costs of raw materials and other supplies and create cost-benefit analyses for changing vendors
EXPERIENCE PREFERRED FOR THE COST ACCOUNTANT:Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or related3+ years relevant work experience, in Manufacturing preferred
