Staff Accountant Manufacturing Industry

Vaco Phoenix is looking for an experienced Staff Accountant for a top client in North Phoenix, AZ. This person must have experience working in the manufacturing industry and will be responsible for monitoring the general ledger, preparation of financial reports, as well as general accounting duties. This position is a fully onsite position, paying up to $85k/yr DOE and interviewing this week.
Job Duties Include:
Balance sheet account analysis and accuracy of transactions affecting the general ledger, and various distribution journals (shop floor control, inventory control, accounts payable, accounts receivable, customer orders) in a manufacturing environment
Periodic financial statements and related schedules
Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of account analyses and reconciliations
Timely preparation of journal entries and execution of the periodic closing process
Able to effectively compile selective historical data
Review and understanding of Periodic Company Sales and Bookings reports
Reconciliation of inventories held in-house and on consignment to others
Coordination with Payroll Administrator as required
Monthly bank statement reconciliations
Business sales and use tax reporting for periodic filing with state government agencies
Maintaining fixed assets and appropriations schedules in agreement with the general ledger as required
The ideal candidate for this position:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred but not required
1-3 years' experience in a staff accountant role
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel - vlookups, pivot tables, Word, and Outlook)
Experience working with ERP systems
Ability to manage multiple tasks and take ownership of work product
Excellent written and oral communication skills
