Vaco New Jersey is working with a client who needs a Staff Accountant for a long term temporary project. The Staff Accountant will act as a key member of the Finance team, responsible for the administration of general accounting duties including, general ledger management, and preparation of financial reports. Responsibilities:
Balance sheet account analysis and accuracy of transactions affecting the general ledger, and various distribution journals (shop floor control, inventory control, accounts payable, accounts receivable, customer orders) in a manufacturing environment;
Periodic financial statements and related schedules;
Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of account analyses and reconciliations.
Timely preparation of journal entries and execution of the periodic closing process.
Able to effectively compile selective historical data;
Review and understanding of Periodic Company Sales and Bookings reports;
Reconciliation of inventories held in-house and on consignment to others.
Coordination with Payroll Administrator as required.
Monthly bank statement reconciliations.
Business sales and use tax reporting for periodic filing with state government agencies.
Maintaining fixed assets and appropriations schedules in agreement with the general ledger as required.
Qualifications:
Bachelors of Accounting degree from an accredited university.
Strong sense of ethics, integrity, and accountability.
Accurate and organized.
Knowledge of cost accounting functions with experience in a manufacturing environment considered beneficial.
