POSITION DESCRIPTIONPlans, directs, and implements organization safety program to ensure safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment. Responsible for the development and administration of organization training programs to ensure it achieves company goals.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):1. Develop and implement safety programs for Company personnel to assure a safe and healthful work environment.2. Monitor and report to senior management on all air carrier activities that may have an impact on safety.3. Establish and manages a reporting system (WBAT), which provides for a timely and free flow of safety related data to solicit continuous improvement suggestions.4. Continuous communication with other Company Directors and Managers.5. Periodically assess and update safety program effectiveness and regulatory compliance.6. Perform annual safety audits.7. Investigate accidents and incidents as assigned by the President/CEO, Chief Operating Officer, and General Manager.8. Assist management as necessary in the event of a government safety, security, environmental and health inspections.9. Maintain Hazardous Substance Exposure Reports.10. Maintain a close relationship with the FAA, NTSB, and industry safety organizations and associations.11. Manages, reviews, and updates the safety company manuals and interfaces with the FAA for the applicable acceptance and approvals of all regulatory manuals. Serves as the liaison between company subject matter experts and the FAA as necessary on regulated manuals.12. Acts as the Aircraft Operator Security Coordinator as required by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and other agencies as required.13. Regularly communicates with the TSA, U.S. Customs and Board Patrol, Airport Security, Local Law Enforcement, DOD, Department of Security Services, Federal Bureau of Investigations, and other law enforcement agencies.14. Acts as an integral member of the Emergency Operations Center team when activated.15. Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:The Director shall have extensive operational experience and professional qualifications in aviation as outlined in FAR Part 119.65(a). This includes a knowledge and understanding of the following:* Aviation safety programs* Aviation safety standards* Safe aviation operating practicesEducation and/or Experience* 4-year university degree with emphasis in flight or ground safety, Business Mgt or HR mgt preferred; or 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.* Ability to write routine reports and correspondence with focus on FAA and OSHA regulations.* Ability to speak effectively before groups including employees of the Company and regulatory agencies.* Should have extensive operational experience and professional qualifications in aviation. This would include the knowledge and understanding of: (a) Aviation safety programs. (b) Aviation safety standards.
