OVERVIEW: The Senior Accountant has a wide-ranging scope that will require the successful candidate to be comfortable dealing with multiple aspects of financial control and direction with a growing manufacturing, installation and service organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare month end balance sheet account reconciliationsAnalyze vendor accounts in effort to control the DPO metricManage the companies IFRS 16 complianceProvide customer and product margin analysis as part of the month-end close processEnsure that corporate wide accounting policies and procedures are implemented and followed.Ensure that internal controls systems and processes are best practice, effective, documented and operating as designedSupports budget and forecasting activitiesCoordinate and manage the capital expenditure process for the divisionInteract with external auditors as neededOversee maintenance and the integrity of financial systems used to support the business functionAdditional duties as requested or required by management

Must have working knowledge of IFRSExperience with Canadian taxes a plusAbility to advise and assist Controller in analyzing and interpreting financial data and reportsDemonstrated leadership capabilities to build a strong finance team that works closely with operationsAbility to manage financial control and be capable of managing dual reporting relationshipsUnderstands business implications of decisionsDemonstrates accuracy and thoroughnessMeets productivity standards, adhering to tight deadlinesDemonstrates knowledge of EEO policyUpholds organizational valuesFollows policies and procedures
LANGUAGE
SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, financial reports, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from group of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and
TRAINING:
Bachelors Degree (B.A. / B.S.) from a four -year college or university in accounting, finance or business and 5 to 7 years of related experience in the manufacturing industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
