Job Overview:
As the Procurement Manager at Hayden AI, you will play a critical role in managing the company's supply chain and vendor relationships. This is a unique opportunity to shape the procurement function at a rapidly growing startup. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working across various aspects of procurement and vendor management.
Key Responsibilities:Vendor Management:Identify, evaluate, and onboard new vendors to support the company's growing operational and enterprise needs.Establish and maintain strong supplier relationships, ensuring high-quality products/services and competitive pricing.Monitor vendor performance and compliance with contracts, terms, and company standards.Negotiate pricing, contracts, and service agreements to secure the best value for the company.
Procurement Operations:Execute day-to-day procurement activities, including purchase requisitions, purchase orders (POs), and invoice approvals through NetSuite.Establish and maintain a system that ensures all procurement activities link and validate against the company's annual budget, ensuring spending aligns with financial forecasts and approved allocations.Act as the primary point of contact for all procurement-related inquiries.
Compliance & Reporting:Ensure adherence to regulatory and organizational standards, particularly around WBE/MBE/DBE (Women, Minority, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise) compliance.Track and report on procurement spend, vendor diversity, and other KPIs.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:Work closely with finance, operations, and engineering teams to align procurement activities with business needs and budget constraints.Partner with legal to ensure contracts meet all compliance and risk management standards.
Strategic Sourcing & Cost Optimization:Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements within the supply chain.Drive continuous improvement initiatives by benchmarking costs and seeking alternative suppliers or products when necessary.
Miscellaneous Tasks:Take on special projects as needed, such as sourcing critical components or services on short notice.Support company-wide initiatives like RFP processes, product launches, and facility expansion projects.
Qualifications:Experience:5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field, ideally in a startup or fast-growing company.Experience with
NetSuite
or similar ERP systems for PO management is highly preferred.
Skills:Strong proven negotiation and vendor management skills.Analytical mindset with a focus on cost-saving strategies.Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
Education:Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
