Accounting Manager / Finance Director
Position Overview:
The Senior Accountant plays a crucial role in the finance department, providing leadership and coordination in the administrative, business planning, accounting, and budgeting efforts of the company. This position involves supervision of the staff accountant team and overseeing key areas such as financial reporting, audit preparation, and budget management.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the daily activities of the accounting department and ensure that all major projects, month-end, and year-end reports are completed accurately and on time.Ensure that all accounting processes align with GAAP and current financial legislation.Analyze the company's financial results with respect to profits, trends, costs, and compliance with budgets. Issue regular status and ad hoc reports to senior management.Provide strategic analyses and recommendations to improve financial operations and performance.Lead, direct, and manage the staff accountant team.Coordinate and prepare internal and external financial statements.Coordinate activities with external auditors and assist with the preparation of audits.Develop and maintain internal control and effective accounting system and policies.Recommend and implement improvements to accounting systems and management practices.Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Master's degree preferred.Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) license is required.5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Excellent leadership abilities to oversee the accounting department.Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial management.
