Reports To:
Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager
Position Overview:
The Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting with the preparation of monthly financial analysis reports, developing, and maintaining department budgets and generating cost reports. The successful candidate will also collect pertinent information for third party audits, oversee financial reporting and operations and will be the first point of contact for accounting issues.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations and assist with monthly closing processes.Contribute to the development and review of annual operating budgets and performance projections.Maintain documentation for accounts payable, purchasing, and treasury and conduct internal audits.Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.Meet processing and reporting deadlines.Respond to information requests, review financial statements, and assist with audits.Ensure compliance with GAAP.Assist the accounting manager with financial and accounting operations.Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and other issues that should be brought to the CFO's attention.Review the company's accounting information to identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances.Utilize accounting IT system to facilitate processes and maintain records.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.2+ years of accounting experience.Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).Hands-on experience with accounting software like Costpoint and QuickBooks.Experience with general ledger functions.Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills.
