About The Institute for Data Engineering and Science (IDEaS) at the Georgia Institute of Technology: The Institute for Data Engineering and Science (IDEaS) provides a unified point to connect government, industry, and academia to advance foundational research, and accelerate the adoption of Big Data technology.Job Summary
The Institute for Data Engineering and Science (IDEaS) and the Institute for Neuroscience, Neurotechnology and Society (INNS) seek to hire a Research Engagement Manager, primarily to cultivate external research partnerships with industry, foundations, and government. The individual will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, and assisting in building strategic partnerships that align with the multidisciplinary priorities of IDEaS and INNS.Responsibilities
Apply domain expertise in manufacturing and materials to advance research collaborations between external partners and specific Georgia Tech units whose research interest match the partners' interests.Coordinate response of Georgia Tech researchers working with external partners on collaborative research opportunities including major federal programs; support the development of new and strategic Institute initiatives.Build relationships with industry and corporate clients to engage stakeholders in areas that are aligned with Institute research and education initiatives.Leverage Institute resources and use knowledge of industry research environments to tailor partnership models that drive a culture of open innovation and enterprise transformation.Participate in meetings in order to connect partnership activities among the interdisciplinary research institutes with institute-level development activities.Identify potential funding opportunities for research projects. Collaborate with researchers to secure funding from various sources, such as government grants, private foundations, or industry partnerships.Perform other job-related duties as assigned.Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Required Experience:
Five to seven years of job-related experience, reduced (for M.S.) or waived (for Ph.D.) in case of an advanced degree.Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Education and/or experience in one or more areas relevant to the mission of IDEaS or INNS is preferred.Previous experience with university and external research and development including sponsored research agreements, nondisclosure agreements, and intellectual property a plus.Excellent skills in building long-term relationships, as well as written and verbal communications skills.Use of Salesforce a plus.Contact Information
