Serve as the senior-most corporate engagement professional within a college, Interdisciplinary Research Institute (IRI), or other Georgia Tech (GT) unit with college-level or Institute-wide focus and serve as the primary point-of-contact between the campus Office of Corporate Engagement (OCE) and the Strategic Energy Institute's leadership. Provide support for a specific unit and support of that unit's leadership while also providing mutual benefits between corporate partners and the entire GT campus and enterprise through business development results. Lead other corporate-facing personnel within assigned unit. Responsible for increasing corporate investments in research, philanthropic support, fee-based unitization of university resources/equipment, professional & executive education, and licensing. Contribute to economic development efforts through the promotion of corporate attraction into Georgia and through promotion of Georgia-based startups.Responsibilities
Lead corporate engagement efforts within a college, IRI(s) or other GT unit with college-level or GT-enterprise-wide focus or mission.Serve as the primary point-of-contact between OCE and the unit's leadership (dean, director, etc.) on matters related to corporate engagement and business development.Perform fundraising, business development, and revenue generation including sponsored research, executive and professional education, utilization of university resources, licensing, and other forms of revenue from corporate partners for the assigned unit and for the balance of the GT enterprise.Contribute to economic development by promoting Georgia, Atlanta, and startups to corporate partners.Manage relationships for a corporate partner portfolio capable of generating $1M/year or more per relationship.Ensure coordination of corporate partner engagements within the assigned unit and with other units at GT.Work with corporate-facing partners within GT towards the successful negotiation, resolution of issues, and execution of agreements.Supervise and mentor corporate-facing staff within the college or unit.Perform other related duties as assigned.Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a technical or business discipline.Required Experience:
Eight to ten years job related experience.Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Educational Qualifications:
Master's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.Preferred Experience:
Corporate engagement experience in a university environment and/or relevant experience in sales, marketing, and relationship management or other related fields.Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Knowledge:
Documented experience and understanding of issues related to university-industry engagement including sponsored research agreements, gifts agreements, publication rights, and Intellectual Property.Skills:
