Description
As a screening & integration engineer on the Generative AI Experiences Software team, you will review and triage incoming bugs, analyze logs and help determine priority of issues. You will be expected to identify potential trends in incoming bugs and escalate to cross-functional team members. You will also be responsible for integrating our software with the broader operating system, and will gain encyclopedic knowledge of our area of focus and bugs in our components. We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, because of the high level of interaction with the engineering teams, management, and other organizations within Apple. The ideal candidate will be highly technical, detail-oriented, creative, motivated, and focused on achieving results.
As a team member your primary responsibilities are:
Support developers for triage and analysis of issues
Work with others to complete analysis, evaluations and design alternatives and to implement process improvements
Develop, maintain and collaborate on tools that support and automate processes for screening issues in our software
Compile and assemble software from source code for triaging and debugging, independent from development engineers' workflow
Maintain branching for software repositories
Maintain documentation of features for team
Monitor communications in screening chat rooms
Run reviews for development teams to keep issues moving through our system
Escalate appropriately issues found in screening to development engineers
Minimum Qualifications
Passionate and inquisitive, and seek to solve everyday problems in innovative ways (e.g. process efficiency, automation)
Passion for debugging and problem solving
Strong software engineering and development life cycle knowledge
Advanced experience with version control systems, specifically git
Experience in programming or scripting, preferably in Python
Comfortable with rapid development cycles
Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work accordingly
Track record of being proactive, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and well organized
Basic understanding of macOS and iOS
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Xcode and Apple internal development practices
BS CS/CE/EE or equivalent experience
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
