Responsibilities
Basic PurposePromotes the reliability of the Bulk Power System compliance with applicable FERC, NERC and WECC standards monitoring and enforcement activities and functions as a team member for internal and external audit preparation. Ensures relevant, valid, reliable, stacking, and sufficient evidence is available to demonstrate complianceEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesMaintains and improves Electric System Control Operations’ compliance program for assessing, monitoring, and enforcing auditable compliance with applicable Reliability Standards:Performs internal assessments, gap analysis, and ad-hoc audits and self-certificationsProvides guidance and technical direction to System Operators, Electric System Control Operations’ management and technical support staffAssists Compliance Leads and Subject Matter Experts in developing and documenting procedures and processesCreates and maintains FERC, NERC and WECC required documentation that demonstrates compliance with applicable standardsPrepares for and participates in internal and external compliance auditsInterfaces with Regional Reliability Coordinator, compliance enforcement, and neighboring utility operations personnel as requiredPerforms a variety of analysis tasks and develops appropriate recommendations for:Near misses, operation performance enhancements, and system events that affect reliabilityApplicable standards that have future enforcement datesImpacts of organizational, operational, and technological changes on reliability and compliance.Suggests and ensures implementation of internal controls to prevent errors.Provides direction to and trains less experienced Regulatory Compliance Analysts.Collects, validates and reports data related to NERC and WECC required ad hoc reporting, Transmission performance measures, and other assigned areas.Assists in Standards Development balloting and commenting process for the entire organization.Ensures all compliance aspects of position are known and followed; understands and complies with all policies, codes and regulations applicable to position and company.Performs related duties as assigned.Requirements
Essential Education, Skills, and EnvironmentEducation and Work ExperienceBachelor’s Degree in a related area of specialty from an accredited school and 6 years of related work experience.Candidates that do not possess a bachelor’s degree must have a minimum of 10 years of related work experience.Specialized Knowledge and SkillsDemonstrated knowledge of:Applicable FERC Orders, NERC and WECC standards that apply to the Balancing, Interchange and Transmission functions.Procedural compliance activities, lessons learned, best practices, noncompliance findings of other entities and formulate recommendations based on this knowledge to company operationsDemonstrated skills such as:Analytical, interpersonal, strong time management, prioritizations and communicationEquipment and ApplicationsPCs, word processing, spreadsheet and database software.Work Environment and Physical DemandsGeneral office environment. No special physical demands required.Compensation
Annual Salary: $100,700 (Min) to $118,400 (Mid); Up to 15% Short Term Incentive Plan target opportunity at the discretion of the company. This is a non-represented position.Benefits
