We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Drama Director to lead our middle and high school students in producing a theater production during the current school year. The director will be responsible for selecting a play or musical, conducting auditions, running rehearsals, and coordinating all aspects of the performances. The ideal candidate will inspire students' creativity, foster teamwork, and integrate Christian hope and values into the theater experience for all participating students.Job Duties
Select an age-appropriate play or musical for middle and high school students, aligning with Hope’s Christian mission and values and which allows many students to participate.Hold auditions and cast students in various roles based on talent, interest, and suitability for parts.Create and lead a rehearsal schedule (outside of school hours), balancing students' academic responsibilities and the play's production needs.Teach and guide students in acting, stage presence, and other theatrical skills.Coordinate technical aspects of the production, including set design, costumes, lighting, and sound (with student or volunteer assistance).Work collaboratively with school staff and volunteers to ensure smooth planning and execution of the production.Lead multiple performances of a single production for the school and broader community.Encourage and support student involvement in all aspects of the production, including stage crew, props, and publicity.
