The Network System Engineer is integral to our IT team, designing, implementing and maintaining robust network systems. This role requires deep knowledge of network protocols, hardware and security measures to ensure seamless connectivity and optimal performance. Responsibilities include: Monitoring network activity and troubleshooting issues. Implementing upgrades and enhancing network security. Collaborating with cross-functional teams and providing technical guidance. Ensuring compliance with industry standards. Maintaining detailed documentation and staying updated with industry trends. Project experience implementing core infrastructure, networking, and cloud-based services. Your day to day will involve: Troubleshooting & providing Tier-1/2/3 support to diagnose and resolve escalated issues that may cause service degradation or interruption in connectivity of the Data Center, DR, Regional Hubs, and all branches. Proactively monitoring (SolarWinds, PRTG) of 1000+ devices network and knowledge of NMS/Syslog monitoring, alerting, and escalations. Configuring and installing various network devices and services (e.g. routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs). Drafting and documenting designs and standards. Troubleshooting and resolving complex problems. Must Haves: Master's or Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering. 3 - 5 years of experience in a relevant field. CCNA is required; CCNP or equivalent (certified) is preferred. Knowledge of NG-Firewalls (Multi-vendor, Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, FortiGate), security products/practices – ACLs, firewalls, VPNs, etc., and wireless access controllers and access points. Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to articulate project level presentations to business sponsors. Experienced in WAN protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF), LAN/WLAN (DNS, IP Addressing, QoS, Spanning Tree, Multicast), Cisco Catalyst switches, Cisco ISR/ASR routers. Project experience implementing core infrastructure, networking, and cloud-based services for business teams or consumers. Nice to Haves: Familiarity with 24x7 operational and rotational NOC-based shifts. Intermediate knowledge of network systems designs principles and standards. Cisco IOS, Cisco ASA/Palo Alto (Firewall), Fortinet Wireless, Solar Winds and/or other Network Management utilities. Routing, switching, VPNs troubleshooting expertise. Understanding of WAN and internet multi-homing architecture.
