Weatherford is looking for an experienced and highly motivated
North America Supply Chain & Logistics Director
to lead the supply chain and logistics operations throughout North America. In this key leadership role, you will drive the strategic execution of supply chain initiatives, focusing on materials, procurement, distribution, logistics, and sourcing, while delivering year-over-year performance improvements. As a trusted partner to the Geozone SVP, you will be instrumental in building an industry-leading supply chain and logistics environment that supports operational excellence and business growth.
Roles & Responsibilities
SAFETY, SECURITY & COMPLIANCE
Maintains the highest standards of corporate governance, ensuring that all activities are carried out ethically and in compliance with Company policies and procedures, relevant laws, regulations, standards and industry practices.
Responsible for being familiar with the Company's Security, Compliance & HSE policies and takes an active role in the compliance and improvement of Weatherford's Management System.
Responsible for the health and safety arrangements of all and any subordinates and for any persons visiting them while on the Company premises.
Always demonstrates effective safety leadership to enhance the Company’s commitment to safety performance.
QUALITY
Responsible for being familiar with the Company's Quality policies and takes an active role in the compliance and improvement of Weatherford's Management System.
Maintains service quality as immediate priorities when working across all areas of the business.
OPERATIONS
Supports and contributes to the development, implementation, and execution of strategic supply chain processes in support of supply chain and business objectives.
Accountable for maximizing service levels, in conjunction with inventory goals, through distribution requirement planning and deployments.
Analyzes current inventories and procedures; suggests improvements to increase efficiency of supply chain and logistics profitability for the Geozone and the company.
Drives the Geozone Logistics, Distribution Centers and Warehouse strategy to reflect internal customer needs and summarize business requirements aligned with the global strategy.
Work with order management, sales & marketing, product managers, manufacturing, suppliers, distribution centers and third-party logistics provider in support of business objectives.
Monitors the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; identifies and qualifies new suppliers in collaboration with other departments.
Implement best practices for transportation logistics, ensuring the cost-effective movement of goods while meeting service-level agreements.
Oversee inbound and outbound logistics operations, including managing delivery timelines, optimizing routes, and reducing transportation costs.
Works closely with Geozone operations to enhance performance at the point of impact whether in specific country operations and/or contracts.
COMMUNICATION
Maintains effective communications with all key stakeholders both internal and where appropriate external.
Primary interface for all inventory, logistics and distribution issues to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
FINANCIAL
All employees have an accountability to the organization to be financially responsible whether they are in charge of a function budget or simply their own expenses.
Costs incurred should be within approved budget and processed within agreed time frames and following the relevant financial policy and procedure.
PEOPLE & DEVELOPMENT
Responsible for developing their own careers within the Company including completing all necessary function training to enhance their skills and experience.
Responsible to ensure resources are aligned and coherent with activity levels, activity mix and country specific needs in the Geozone.
Responsible for completing all assigned Compliance & Company Standards training.
Responsible for engaging with their line manager to discuss their personal performance, objectives and opportunities to enhance their skills and experience to support their career potential.
Responsible for actively engaging their employees to support talent management through Weatherford’s performance management & coaching tools and processes, including but not limited to talent assessments and succession planning.
Responsible for driving strategies for the recruitment & retention of key personnel & to foster an environment that enables the Company to attract & retain a high performing talented workforce.
VISION & LEADERSHIP
Lead and facilitate cross functional teams in support of strategic initiatives both within the supply chain organization and across Geozones and Manufacturing.
Identify process problems and concerns and make recommendations for innovative solutions and corrective actions to achieve desirable results, help the company better manage cost on supplies and supplier services.
REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, Engineering, Manufacturing or related discipline.
Minimum 10+ years of experience in procurement, logistics, general/strategic sourcing, supply chain management, planning and distribution or similar experience.
Have experience managing a large team across locations.
Have experience developing and implementing transportation strategies that balance cost-efficiency with timely delivery.
Have experience with managing contracts with third-party carriers, optimizing freight costs, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
PREFERRED:
Supply Chain Management certification.
Oil & Gas industry supply chain experience.
MBA in Business Administration or Master Degree.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
REQUIRED:
Strong leadership skills including leading projects with broad scope and impact outside of department.
Excellent knowledge of supply chain processes.
Strong problem solving, negotiating, solutions orientation and presentation skills.
Capable of analyzing and solving complex problems through innovative thought.
PREFERRED:
Excellent negotiation skills and contract management.
Strong product or market knowledge.
