Creative Manager, Men's Basketball Lincoln Park Campus (On-site) Job Description
The Highlights:
In accordance with the mission of the Department of Athletics, assist in administering the progress and success of the intercollegiate men's basketball program within the guidelines of the NCAA, the BIG EAST Conference, and DePaul University. This includes all pre-season, in-season, and post-season activities necessary to the development of a nationally-competitive team. To ensure internal, creative alignment, the role reports to the Head Coach, Men's Basketball, but in close collaboration with the Senior Associate AD, Marketing & Communications and Assistant AD, Creative Services. This role will lead the visual storytelling within the men's basketball program by utilizing expert skills in Graphic Design and Photography.What You'll Do:Design & Creative Executions: Leverage a proficient understanding of visual design principles, techniques and best practices to deliver on-brand creative executions. Work directly and collaboratively with the Athletic Department's Marketing, Communications, and Creative Services divisions to ensure all materials adhere to brand identity and guidelines of DePaul University and DePaul Athletics. Maintain consistent style, themes, and marketing strategies for all men's basketball creative content.Photoshoots: Support the Director, Men's Basketball Recruiting and Director, Video & Scouting in coordinating photoshoots for prospective student-athletes as well as design graphics, electronic recruiting aids, and other graphics for use by the men's basketball coaching staff.Social Media: In coordination with the Athletic Department's Marketing, Communications, and Creative Services divisions, support the development of social media efforts for the men's basketball team. Deliver compelling graphics and content pieces that maximize reach, engagement, and impact for the men's basketball brand on a local and global scale.Special Projects: Support the Executive Associate AD, Revenue Generation & Strategic Initiatives and Assistant AD for Creative Services in designing locker room, office, and facility graphics for the men's basketball program. Manage the coordination of vendors necessary for installation within the Sullivan Athletic Center and Wintrust Arena. Design visual aids and graphics for men's basketball events around fundraising, camps, and pro days. Lead other special projects within the men's basketball program, as requested.Leadership & Liaison: Act as a liaison for the men's basketball program and the Athletic Department's marketing, communications, and creative services personnel to allow for a collaborative and aligned content plan within university and departmental brand standards.Knowledge of and adherence to all NCAA rules, policies and procedures pertaining to men's basketball. Attend and participate in monthly NCAA rules compliance meetings.Performs role and executes tasks within the scope of the team's operating expense budget.What You'll Need:
Bachelor's Degree required.Minimum 2 years graphic design experience with a NCAA Division I college athletics or professional sports team. Experience can be full-time, part-time, or via undergraduate/graduate work.Valid driver's license preferred.Comprehensive graphic design capability. Working commercial knowledge of photography, video, and other creative mediums and recruiting trends.Working understanding of software relevant to the field, including graphic design (i.e. Adobe Creative Suite), video editing, analytics, project management and social media marketing tools.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent organization skills.Excellent time management skills - able to confidently manage competing priorities, multiple tasks, and communication with several internal and external stakeholders.Ability to work independently and/or collaboratively with several departments.Demonstrated experience in working in a diverse urban and/or intercollegiate athletics environment.Dedication to serving the department, the University and the student-athletes with the highest level of leadership, initiative and integrity.Must be able to handle the physical demands of team practice, travel, and competition.Requires sitting and/or standing for extended periods of time.Requires working evening, weekend, and University holiday hours, including attending/traveling to select men's basketball practices, home games, and away games.Required to be on-call throughout the basketball season and NCAA transfer portal recruiting windows (including nights and weekends) for recruiting visits, design needs, and content edits.Routine lifting and setup of team camera and photoshoot equipment (50lbs+).
